Body temperature is a measure of the body's ability to generate and get rid of heat. Safe and accurate temperature taking is important especially in young children. If your child has a fever, home treatment can include giving over the counter medication such as acetaminophen, to help lower their temperature. The amount of medication to give depends on the age and weight of your child.
