An environment to create simple pictures containing lines, arrows, boxes, circles, and text. This environment is not obsolete, but new documents typically use much more powerful graphics creation systems, such as TikZ, PSTricks, MetaPost, or Asymptote. None of these are covered in this document; see CTAN. The picture environment has one required argument, a pair of numbers width , height.
Basics Line segments Source file The line command has two arguments: a direction vector, a length. The components of the direction vector have to be coprime no common divisor except 1 , and they are restricted to the integers. Because of the restrictions to direction vectors, drawing line segments usually necessitates an extensive search for suitable points. In many cases, drawing the desired line segments may not be possible without the use of additional packages, such as eepic , or pstricks.
It only takes a minute to sign up. It is possible to get something similar with lines but not when you want the triangle to be fill up with a solid color. Do you confirm? Maybe the bezier curves could be an option. And if you are so familar with standard picture environment that you don't want to change, you can also use pict2e to improve the standard picture environment.
If you need to include simple diagrams or figures in your document, the picture environment may be helpful. This article describes circles, lines, and other graphic elements created with L a T e X. Images can be "programmed" directly in your L a T e X file.
